History:The Grand Mosalla originated in a 1982 proposal to replace the University of Tehran as the primary location for weekly Friday prayer. A large section of land in Abbas Abad, the original site for the megaproject Shahestan-e Pahlavi, was allocated for the Grand Mosalla.

In 1985, a call was issued for designers to submit their proposed designs.The city council members served as judges for the competition.Finally, Mr. Moayed's design won.And in 2017, the construction of the Mosalla began.

use:The Mosalla's central mosque is used for Eid al-Fitr prayers, Friday prayers, the Tehran International Book Fair, and other national events.
Access:The Grand Mosalla is served by the Line1, Mosalla-ye Emam Khomeini Metro Station.in located in next to the Qasem Soleimani Expressway.It also has a bus rapid transit [BRT] station in Line 5: Elm-o Fanavari Terminal to Beihaghi Terminal, Meydan-e Argantin Station.
